With 14 days left, I present…

Normally 2 weeks before school starts I make my predictions as to what the classes I am taking will be like. This is usually done with a friend over the phone but since he has since broken his iPhone we can’t FaceTime so no free calling overseas for us. You guys will have to take on his role of reassuring me things can’t be that bad and that I will do awesome. Here we go:

Fall 2011

CHRTC 380 – Christian Religious Education and the Child.
Honestly, I am not sure why I am taking this class but since we have two school boards in Edmonton, I would like the possibility of working for either and This is a required class. 11 am seems like as good of time as any to take this class. My prediction is that I am going to have to think back to my sunday school days and get a little creative. Despite going to a Catholic school, I was raised in a non-denominational Christian household. Saints? Sisters? what are these? Oh the plus side, my prof is a former teacher and Chaplin for a school which is cool.

CHRTC 250 – The Theological Education of the Catholic Teacher
Once again, Likely going to need to focus myself. I have a book for this class (which I will likely return and buy the iPad app) all about how to be Catholic. Apparently it is a lot more to do with morals and learning about how scripture is really the word of god and the word of human. On the plus side, I am not Catholic so it will be like learning a new religion in some sorts because I don’t have any preconceived notions of the system of ideas. Same prof as the other CHRTC class so that could prove to be bad.

Drama 101 – Introduction to Theatre Arts
Apparently it looks at the origins and development of theatre art and an introduction to theatre aesthetics – It seemed like one of the better Fine Arts options to be honest and with 130 people, I don’t think I will have too many presentations, I HOPE.

Nutrition 100 – Introduction to Nutrition and Wellbeing
450 people, a lot of a material to cover, and a hard exam. Why didn’t I learn from my brother who took the same class at MacEwan?  Oh right, this is still an easier science option than Rocks and Soil.

French 211 – Intermediate French
Wait What? What is a french minor doing in what is a slightly more advanced intro french class? Well, Apparently my verb conjugation is terrible and my spelling even more so my placement test wasn’t all that great despite knowing most of the answers. Maybe my conjugation will improve a little bit at least but I have little hope for my spelling.
